A minimum of a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and one Grade 4 within GCSE Single/Combined Science/ pass in a vocational Level 2 Science qualification.

This qualification should be taken with 2 other subjects and provides a science element to a broad study programme which might include Sport, Psychology or Health and Social Care courses. It is not recommended if you wish to progress to a career in science.

Assessment is by coursework.

Please note the awarding body for all BTEC qualifications recently made the decision to extend the current BTEC courses in our offer beyond 2018. This means that for 2018 entry, all Level 3 vocational subjects will continue to be assessed by coursework only, with the exception of Art and Design.

Progression routes are varied and can lead on to a wide range of degrees.  The 1 A level equivalent is not recommended for a Science degree.
