Jack Hinchliffe visits Lords, the home of Cricket

2 March 2017

Jack Hinchliffe, a second year cricket academy player, took 5 wickets in the annual fixture of the Cricket Academy against Marylebone Cricket Club held at Honley Cricket Club in June 2016. His excellent performance resulted in an opportunity to visit Lords, the home of Cricket, to watch England play South Africa in a Test Match.

It was a great honour for Jack to be invited to Lords to join the elite cricketers from other schools and colleges around the country, to watch the cricket and to receive a plaque on the day for his achievement of taking 5 wickets against the MCC.

Pete Lombard, the College’s Cricket coach, commented on Jack’s achievements saying, “It’s great for Huddersfield New College cricket, as Jack will be representing the College at the home of Cricket.” He further said, “We are delighted for Jack as only a select few cricketers receive this privilege.”
