Huddersfield New College (HNC) students and staff joined Friday’s Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised over £270 to help beat cancer.

Staff and students ran a stall throughout the morning, offering homebaked cakes and coffee to other staff and students taking a break from their work and studies.

The College has supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning for a number of years and this year raised its biggest ever amount for the charity.

Principal Angela Williams comments: “I would like to thank everyone who helped us to raise our biggest amount ever, either by baking or by buying cakes. With a community of over 2800 staff and students, many of us sadly have personal experience of supporting family and friends living with cancer. So we were delighted to join the many thousands of others across the country raising money for Macmillan, so that it can continue to offer this vital support.”

“Coming together over coffee and cake to help others also helps to build the personal resilience our students will need in their very busy lives.”
