The Teenage Cancer Trust is currently shortlisted to become Huddersfield New College's chosen charity for 2017-18. Deputy Principal Peter Kennedy ran the ten mile York race over the weekend in support of the charity, and has already raised over £400.
Staff and students at the College regularly participate in fundraising events. Each year students select a chosen charity so that the 2800 strong College Community can work together and have a bigger impact on the work of a more select number of causes. Donations are still coming in, and anyone who would like to sponsor Peter can still do so here.
Peter comments: "I would like to thank all the staff and students who supported me - it definitely makes the sore limbs worthwhile! As a College here to support young people achieve their ambitions and succeed, we love to partner with charities that share our passion for providing vital services that help the age group we serve. As a College we believe supporting others is just as important as an academic education, and I am proud to be part of a staff body that shares this belief outside of College life too."
