There are two ways of getting to College by bus in 2017-18; subsidised College buses and normal public transport (with the possibility of a subsidised metro card).

College Buses – Application form 1 (click here to download)

College buses are specifically contracted services for the use of College students only, with one service each day to and from the college.  Areas covered by these services include Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Brighouse, Holme Valley, Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen Valley.  The cost of these is £180 for the year (about 50p per journey) or £75.00, £65.00 and £45.00 paid at the start of each of the 3 terms.  If you qualify for the bursary fund, then financial help may be available to assist with the cost of this option.

Passes that are bought can only be used for these direct services to the college and can be purchased during enrolment or from the Finance office. To use this option, please complete bus application form 1.

If you purchase a college bus pass and when you receive your timetable a different form of transport is more suitable for you, then please note that you can apply for a refund from the finance office.

All cheques for these services need to be made payable to ‘Huddersfield New College’. You will also be able to use our online payment service – Wisepay.

Public Transport – Application form 2 (click here to download)

Monthly or weekly passes are available for public buses from any bus station travel centre. Current prices are £36.00 per month or £9.75 per week.  These are for any student under the age of 19 and can be used at any time during the week with a 16-18 photocard.

If your registered (with the college) home address is over 3 miles away from the college and your address is not on a specified college bus route, then you may qualify for a subsidised metro card. To use this option, please complete bus application form 2.
