Huddersfield New College is an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form College and we are looking to recruit a fixed term Science Technician to join our successful team. In this exciting role, you will provide an efficient and high quality technical support to the Science department.
Appointment 1 - Term time only plus 5 days to be deployed by the Line Manager (39 weeks). 15 hours per week, Wednesday and Friday
Appointment 2 - Term time only plus 5 days to be deployed by the Line Manager (39 weeks). 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The salary for this post will be within the range 4 – 6 of the NJC pay spine for Support Staff £18, 190 - £18, 909 per annum:
Appointment 1 – £6,351.84 - £6,602.91 pro rata to reflect reduced weeks contract
Appointment 2 - £15,667.87 - £16,287.18 pro rata to reflect reduced weeks contract
Appointment 1 will primarily support Biology and Appointment 2 will primarily support Chemistry.
Applicants must be educated to at least A Level or equivalent standard.

Course Leader and Teacher of Sociology
1.0 FTE Permanent. Start date: January 2021. This post is suitable for experienced teachers; trainee teachers need not apply. A unique opportunity to be a catalyst for social change.
Due to increased student numbers and being an oversubscribed college, we have an exciting opportunity for a teacher and Course Leader of A level Sociology. The successful candidate will be an inspirational teacher who can demonstrate passion, integrity and a genuine commitment to improving the life chances of all our students. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the curriculum leadership team within the Humanities department which alongside Sociology consists of History, Politics, Geography and Philosophy Ethics & Religion. As a new member of staff you will be assigned a supportive mentor and you will participate in the College’s outstanding CPD programme.
