Communications Officer (Maternity cover)

37 hours per week, term time only plus five days (39 weeks). Maternity cover until return of substantive post holder. Anticipated return date July 2022.

The salary for this post is within the NJC pay spine range 12-14 £23,495 - £24,932 per annum. Reduced pro rata to £20237.31 - £21475.07 to reflect reduced weeks contract.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our small but dynamic Marketing & Schools Liaison department. This team plays a key role in ensuring prospective applicants hear all about what we have to offer them, and in celebrating the amazing achievements of our young people. The team also plays a key part in ensuring that we are outstanding out of the classroom too, and our high standards are reflected in every aspect of what we do internally and externally, from Open Events to our Freshers’ Fair and marketing of enrichment.

This is a real opportunity to be involved in a fast paced environment where you’ll have a chance to develop your skills and deliver a wide range of marketing and external relations activities. No two days are the same – one day you could be presenting at an assembly, the next copywriting an enrichment guide and ensuring we are ready to welcome hundreds of prospective students and working with our Graphic Designer to produce video content for a virtual event.

Experience or knowledge of the education sector is helpful, but not essential. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with proven external relations and marketing skills who understands the vital role this department plays in recruiting with integrity, and in ensuring the whole College experience is an outstanding one. If this sounds like you, please take a look at our website which shares more about who we are.

The interview and assessment date for this post is TBC on WC 7th June 2021. The closing date for this vacancy is midday on 24th May 2021.
