“I am thrilled that once again our students have achieved their very best. The results they have achieved will open the doors to their future career ambitions, with many progressing to some unique and life changing career destinations. 2017 was an exceptional record breaking year for results, and we are delighted to have maintained these results in 2018 in a year where more students were entered for the new tougher linear A Levels. On behalf of everyone at HNC, I would like to congratulate our students on their amazing success – we hope they enjoy the remainder of their summer and we look forward to hearing more about their adventures and achievements after HNC!”.

Class of 2018: Another year of amazing results!

In 2018 students maintained the College's strong results, confirming Ofsted's judgement that learner outcomes at the College are 'outstanding.' This is in a year where students sat the new and more challenging Linear A Levels, decided solely by final exams, with no links to coursework and to AS levels. Some headline results include:

  • 100% pass rate for both A Level and Vocational courses.
  • 41% achieving the highly coveted top grades of A* A and B.
  • Overall 66% of our Class of 2018 achieved high grades A* A and B (or equivalent).

The news comes following confirmation that the College was named as number one for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for the second year running in the 2018 National Centre for Diversity Awards and was again shortlisted in the TES Sixth Form College of the Year Award for the second year running.

Here at the College our focus is upon ensuring each and every student achieves their potential, and secures grades that open doors to Universities and employers of choice. Our student case studies, which share an insight into the difference the HNC experience makes to our young people, will be published shortly.
