Our Aspire Programme is your opportunity to enhance your future applications to the most competitive universities.

The programme will broaden your horizons and your awareness of the wider world. Through both developing your academic potential and cultural awareness, you will shine at those all important interviews, including Oxbridge interviews and develop life-long skills. 

Aspire is all about helping you to challenge your ambitions, and help you realise them. Anything is possible as a student at HNC, and our Aspire Programme is about ensuring those with the potential to secure places at the very best universities are supported to do so. 

Students on the programme will study three subjects consisting of either two traditional A Level subjects plus one vocational A Level, or three traditional A Level subjects. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to study professional qualifications relevant to your chosen career pathway and you will be provided with the opportunity to undertake valuable, relevant work experience and internships.

As well as other professional qualifications, you will also be given the opportunity to complete the AQA Extended Project Qualification in your second year which (for universities using the UCAS Tariff in their offers) can give you more points than an AS level and in some instances is used during university interviews to explore a student’s passion for a particular subject.


Aspire is our support programme for high achieving students. If you are predicted to achieve an average GCSE point score of 6.4 or more, you will be enrolled on to our programme. It includes:

  • University visits and tasters at leading universities such as Durham and Leeds
  • Mock interviews and Oxbridge support
  • Cultural and residential trips
  • Option to study a fourth Level 3 option in the first year, including another A Level, BTEC Level 3 qualification or an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

The programme is your perfect opportunity to broaden your awareness of the wider world, consolidate your understanding of topics, and ensure you shine on those all important university applications.

Today’s students will compete with talented individuals with similar aspirations, grades and personal achievements, making the entry process to prestigious universities both challenging and competitive. Universities are now expecting their prospective students to possess a range of core skills in addition to their academic achievements; skills that are vital not only to succeed at undergraduate level, but are essential for creating rounded, adaptable graduates heading into the workplace.
