This is a stimulating, lively and creative subject! Our committed and knowledgeable teachers will support you to engage with new ideas and material which you will analyse and explore. This involves lots of discussion, debate and working with others which will challenge you to be creative with your own use of language. You will develop research skills through wider reading for your Creative Writing module.
English Language supports an incredible range of careers and degrees from pure English Language courses at university to degrees where a high level of communication skills are required such as the Natural Language Processing modules in IT based degrees or courses. This is also a natural option for students interested in careers where language and communication skills are crucial such as Advertising, Journalism, Teaching, Law and Forensic Linguistics. There are few potential career paths where excellent communication skills are not an advantage!
