If so, our Applied Creative Digital Media (Digital Film & Video) course is perfect for you. This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience required for an exciting range of roles within the creative media industry such as production, commissioning and editing.
This is a 1 A Level equivalent course that can be studied as part of a wider study programme. If you would like Creative Media to make up your full-time study programme, we recommend applying for our Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels).

Our Applied Creative Digital Media (Digital Film and Video) courses are creative hands-on programmes. You’ll complete a multiple range of specialist projects, carrying out your own research and learning a range of advanced technical skills.
You’ll be taught by experienced and dedicated teachers, who will guide you through the course, helping you to understand how the media works and the diverse career paths available. And you’ll learn in state-of-the-art facilities, including our Video Editing suite, where you’ll have access to industry standard equipment and software.
Studying for an applied qualification in Creative Digital Media (Digital Film & Video) is an enriching experience, which will give you a vivid insight into the world of Film and Video. This includes high quality trips and visits and inspiring talks from guest speakers working in the creative media industries. You’ll be encouraged to build on your vocational skills outside of the classroom in a range of extra-curricular opportunities, from attending workshops to taking part in ‘behind the scenes’ set visits. In past years our Creative Digital Media (Digital Film & Video) students:
- Visited behind the scenes on the Emmerdale set
- Took part in a residential trip to London to visit the Harry Potter Studios
- Hosted a Film Marathon for charity
- Attended Q&A sessions with broadcasting industry leaders
- Worked with industry standard software in specially designed studios
These courses are assessed via presentations, group work and assignments, and externally assessed exams.
