This is a 1 A Level equivalent course that can be studied as part of a wider study programme. If you would like Digital Games to make up your full-time study programme, we recommend applying for our Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels).

Educate, Enrich, Enlighten
Our highly qualified subject specialists will help you to realise your creativity, and help you to achieve your ambitions. Our facilities are world-class and include spacious classrooms and you will use the latest industry standard software including Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine 4. This is a hands-on course based on real industry scenarios, and you will develop a project to a professional standard and showcase this at our annual exhibition. You’ll enjoy fantastic experiences outside of the classroom too, such as a visit to the Animex Animation and Gaming Festival, giving you an opportunity to preview the latest developments and opportunities in the industry.
Studying for a qualification in Creative Digital Media (Digital Games) is an enriching experience. You’ll be encouraged to build on your vocational skills outside of the classroom in a range of extra-curricular opportunities, from attending workshops to exhibiting your work. In past years our Digital Games students:
- Attended university level workshops
- Exhibited work in an end of year showcase
- Worked with industry on live briefs to develop work-based skills
- Worked with industry standard software
Assessment is via internal assignments and externally assessed examinations.
This is an industry recognised qualification and our students most commonly progress on to degrees in Games Design, Computing, Media Production, Multimedia, Games Development or junior level positions in the industry. This course can also support progression into related areas such as animation, film and TV.

This is a hands-on course, and you will use the latest industry standard software to create your own projects. You’ll enjoy become highly skilled in the use of the latest software, whilst stretching your creative skills through drawing, storytelling and storyboarding.
