Educate, Enrich, Enlighten

Our teachers all have experience of working outside education within fields relating to law and will engage you in fast paced debate and discussion during your learning. You’ll get to experience the law in action with visits to Crown Courts and be put through your paces with a Mock Trial. As you would in a real-life case, you’ll spend a number of weeks preparing the defence or prosecution case!

Law is a traditional subject where you will learn by thinking, learning and debating. You will explore how to argue, on paper and in your lessons, and be able to evidence why and how you think legal principles apply to particular situations. It is therefore important that you think you will enjoy this style of learning.

You’ll gain valuable knowledge and skills throughout your time on the course through a wide range of enrichment opportunities, combining your classroom learning with trips and visits. Our Applied Law students have benefitted from:

- Visiting guest speakers from the Criminal Justice System
- Taking part in trips and visits to courts
- University workshops

All units are assessed through coursework and supervised assessment which is marked externally.
