The BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies is made up of 10 units drawn from vocational areas such as business, ICT, science, sport, and career development. You will study a range of topics including:
• Organising a meeting
• Presenting a business idea
• Communicating with customers
• Keeping active and healthy
• Developing digital information using IT
General College entry criteria for a Level 1 course applies.
Your lessons will involve theoretical work, practical activities and problem solving. You will be provided with excellent resources and student notes.
The 4 core units focus on organisational skills, research skills, personal development and functional skills. The 6 optional units aim to give you a sample of the subjects you may wish to possibly study at Level 2. These include exploring Childcare, Science, IT, Business, Health and Social Care or Sport. The course aims to develop your knowledge and confidence, whilst building transferable skills suitable to education and the workplace.
Each unit will be graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
There is potential for you to progress on to a wide range of Level 2 courses, apprenticeships or into entry level positions within the workplace.
