Our excellent resources help you to succeed, whilst case studies, group work and role plays also helps you to build skills and confidence.
Through your experience of practical activities and theory you will develop your self-confidence, written and verbal communication skills. Group work, role plays and presentations will offer you the chance to develop as a student and prepare you for your next step.
We are incredibly proud of the experiences on offer from the Health and Social Care department. You’ll have the opportunity to develop new skills, including the chance to undertake your First Aid qualification. We also show how much we care via our departmental enrichment which includes fundraising for gifts for teenagers in hospital at Christmas, and a scheme where we support local care home residents. Our trips and visiting speakers are extensive and include GPs, nurses and experiences such as a visit to Bodyworks.
Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams.
Our Level 2 BTEC courses allow our students to progress onto a Level 3 BTEC (A Level equivalent) course, as well as offering students a route into a junior apprenticeship or entry level positions within the Health and Social Care sector.
