• The sport and active leisure industry

A minimum of a Grade 3 within GCSE Single/Combined Science is required. 

The BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport is a full time course and is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for success in current and future employment in the sport, and related industries. In particular, it prepares you for study at Level 3 and also as a stepping- stone in to employment in the sport sector. The course is interactive and students will have the opportunity to cover a range of practical methods in different environments such as the Fitness Suite, state-of-the-art Sports Barn, Sports Hall and Fitness Lab. 

You will be assessed through a series of internally and externally assessed units. Two units will be assessed in the form of an exam, whilst the other units are assessed via a series of assignments. 


The course is designed to prepare you for study on the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport or lead to a range of careers in the sport and leisure related industries.
