There are a number of ways in which our BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care can be studied. The information below shares some of the topics you will study. These increase based on the qualification level you choose. Work placements support you to find out more about a range of roles in this rewarding sector, and put your skills and knowledge into action.

BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma/Extended Diploma is a full time programme of study (equivalent to 3 A levels), and is therefore best suited to those who have decided on a career working with people. You will expand your knowledge of the crucial elements when working with people and explore specialist units such as nutritional health and complementary therapies.


In year 2, you will choose to pursue either the Social or Health branch of this qualification, depending on your career path or university course.

Our highly qualified and supportive staff will support you to gain the knowledge needed for success. Along with your knowledge, you will develop a range of work ready skills. Teaching is highly engaging, using role plays and discussions to develop your confidence and prepare you for success academically and in your future career! This is supported with work experience opportunities, and a range of visiting speakers to help inspire you.

There are a huge range of possibilities. You may opt to progress to degrees such as Nursing or Social Work. Some students opt to move on to direct employment in the caring profession.
