You will study topics which examine both the science that underpins sport and exercise and to work related units including:
- Functional anatomy
- Sport and exercise physiology
- Work experience
- Fitness testing
- Practical testing
Grade 4 in GCSE PE or a pass in a vocational equivalent and one grade 3 within GCSE Single or Combined Science grades or a pass in a vocational level 2 Science qualification
All modules are assessed through a variety of methods including presentations, interviews, group work and written assignments, externally assessed exams and applied projects. Students work is graded at pass, merit or distinction, contributing to an overall grade for the qualification at the end of the course.

There is potential for you to progress onto a wide range of university degrees leading to careers in Sports coaching, sports development, teaching, leisure centre management and gym instruction.
