General College entry criteria applies.

The Foundation Diploma/ Extended Diploma (including Health Studies) is a full-time Health and Social Care based study programme and it is therefore recommended that you plan a career that involves working with people. This BTEC includes units covering nutritional health and complementary therapies. Although specialist, the course supports a huge range of careers.

Assessment is by coursework.

Please note the awarding body for all BTEC qualifications recently made the decision to extend the current BTEC courses in our offer beyond 2018. This means that for 2018 entry, all Level 3 vocational subjects will continue to be assessed by coursework only, with the exception of Art and Design.

There is potential for you to progress onto a wide range of university degrees leading to careers in Health and Social care e.g. Nursing and Social Work. You will also develop your self-confidence and communication skills through group work, role-plays and presentations as well as developing transferable skills such as time management and organisation, which are useful in any area of employment.
