The Women’s Football Academy follows the same successful format as the men’s. The Women’s Academy has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2002. In recent years the Academy has achieved national success in both the league and cup competitions, with players selected to play in the national team. Players have benefited from playing abroad with tours in France, Holland and Germany.
All coaching at the Football Academy is delivered by UEFA “A” or “B” licensed coaches and players receive minimum of 6 hours of coaching per week. Students work daily on their fitness and technique, and gain knowledge of other key issues such as diet and nutrition. They will have the opportunity to complete a 1st4Sport Certificate in Coaching Football Level 1 (The F.A.) Emergency first Aid and Child Protection modules.
Academy players are expected to work hard in both the classroom and in training. Good attendance and progression on a player's chosen study programme is compulsory.
