The conference will take place on Tuesday 6th March 2018 from 5pm. The event is open to young people in Years 10, 11 and 12, and provides an opportunity to experience workshops and talks with STEM experts. These include professionals from a wide range of fields including medicine, engineering, midwifery, mathematics, software design and the animal science industries.
Practical sessions and talks give young people the opportunity to explore the huge range of careers in these dynamic industries, and start to plan their next steps. Guests are able to select three workshops, and are encouraged to explore the diversity of the STEM industries by selecting at least one workshop in a career field they do not know as much about!
The event is completely free for students and parents, and workshops are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Registration for the event opens in early 2018.
Peter Kennedy, Deputy Principal comments: “We are delighted to be announcing the date of our next STEM conference. This is always a hugely popular event, and we are delighted to support so many young people, regardless of where they are thinking of studying, as they plan their next steps into these highly competitive professions. Students at our College progress to a huge variety of STEM careers, and we have some outstanding alumni who are now working at the forefront of these industries. Our inspiring opportunities and connections with organisations that can help students to excel in these competitive fields are just another reason to why our students choose HNC!”
