Claire Murray, a Fine Art teacher here at Huddersfield New College, is back after exhibiting at the British Embassy in Paris. As part of the lead up to the Tour de France, Claire was one of a few local manufacturers invited to highlight Yorkshire’s fantastic track record of creating high quality goods, by attending a UKTI event aimed at improving trade relations between Yorkshire and France. Claire runs a beautiful surface pattern design business, Claire Murray Designs, and exhibited her classic items alongside other local talent.
Claire said: “I met some very lovely people from UKTI, and their Paris counterparts, whose enthusiasm and advice was just brilliant. I’ve said this before but I feel utterly privileged to have been invited to join some fabulous creative industries on this visit, who were the nicest, most down to earth people you could ever want to meet. The building was stunning, as were the products on show”.
We’re privileged to have a talent like Claire teaching here at New College!
