Huddersfield New College welcomed 60 Year 6 students from Meltham C of E Primary School to take part in a mini sports day.
Making use of our fantastic facilities, the Meltham pupils played a range of games including Dodge Ball, Netball and Handball, and took part in some athletics skills sessions, including running, javelin and shot put.
Our Level 3 BTEC Sport and Exercise Students organised this event as part of their course. With the sounds coming from the pitch and the barn, it’s suffice to say that the day was enjoyed by our own students just as much as it was enjoyed by the school children!
Ryan McNeeley, Teacher of Sport, said “Today was a fantastic event, for both our students and the pupils who took part. Not only do events like this help to build stronger ties between HNC and the wider community, it also gives our students the opportunity to organise and host events that will add invaluable skills to their CV”.
