To celebrate our students’ achievements, we host an annual exhibition at HNC, showcasing the very best of our talented design students’ work from the past academic year.

Kick starting with a drinks reception, parents, students, HNC staff and members of the local community took the opportunity to peruse the fantastic work on display, which included graphics, photography and animation. The design team, headed by Carol Sheward were incredibly proud of their students work, with Jonathan Hood, 3D design teacher, calling the exhibition “a triumph of teamwork”.

Awards were being handed out left, right and centre during the evening, with special congratulations going to Rebecca Roebuck (Best in Show), Jessica Lee (Most Creative) and Emily Pearson (most improved).  Well done guys, these awards are a well-deserved recognition of your commitment to your work.

Our students who study design here at HNC often go on to read the subject at University. This year, Ben Crosland has bagged himself a place at the University of Ulster (Ba Hons Product and Furniture Design) and Dominic Taylor will be studying at Falmouth University (Ba Hons Animation and Effects). They’re not the only ones on their way to greatness though, click here to see where else our talented alumni will be heading after results day!

Principal, Angela Williams said, “It has been an absolute pleasure to view the highly creative work of our Design students. It is genuinely heartening that they all want to pursue their creative talents further after college and I wish them all well in their future careers as photographers, interior designers, graphic designers, and product designers. And I’m certain that one day soon I’ll be buying their work on the high street”
