Huddersfield New College student, Denise Erandio, was recently awarded a certificate and gift voucher by Northumbria University for achieving the highest grades in her year group for her AS Law exam. Denise, who is from Hipperholme and in the second year of her A Levels, also studies Politics and Government and Medieval History. Our Principal, Angela Williams, was on hand to present Denise with her surprise prize.
As a college, we have excellent ties with Northumbria University, who have some fantastic courses on offer for students who are interested in a career in Law. With many of our students studying the subject at Northumbria, they offer a prize and certificate for the highest achieving AS Law student on a yearly basis, and this year’s winner was Denise.
Denise has found that her time at HNC has really helped to solidify her academic and career ambitions, and she is now hoping to go on to University to study International Law as her undergraduate degree.
Denise, who was both surprised and very pleased to receive the award, said “ The department is really good, and the teachers offer you excellent support to help you achieve the grades you need to achieve”.
