Tom Craddock, Essex County Cricket Club bowler and college alumni, has returned to college to impart his wisdom on the future cricket stars of the Huddersfield New College! He'll be acting as an additional coach for the Cricket Academy team and will be on hand to offer advice up until the Christmas break.
Tom, who studied Law, Sociology, Psychology and Sport between 2005-2007 at HNC, was part of the initial cohort of cricketers who helped to pioneer our now infamous Cricket Academy, paving the way for the students who came after him to have the opportunity to improve their game and compete in matches across the UK.
Tom is one of many previous HNC students who have gone on to play cricket in a professional capacity; his time with Essex C.C.C., which started with a two month trial, ended up turning into a two year contract.
Since the days that Tom was a student, HNC’s Sports Department has seen some fantastic additions, including the 3G Astroturf pitch and the fabulous new Sports Barn, which was completed in the summer of 2013.
Tom, who thought the new additions to the department were fantastic, said “the Sports Barn is very impressive as a training facility; it reflects the professional training grounds at many prestigious County Cricket Clubs in the UK”.
If you’re interested in joining the Cricket Academy, or any of our other Sporting Academies/Development Programmes, come along to our next Open Event to find out more about the choices on offer.
