A huge well done and many congratulations to Piers Boden, a New College student who has just come back from the Racketlon World Championships the winner of two gold medals and the U16 world champion!

Piers, who represented England in the Under 16 categories at the championships- held in Poznan, Poland- came away from the competition as the Under 16 double world champion, in both the world doubles event and the world team event.

Piers isn’t the only talented member of his family to compete in the competition though! Younger sister, Hannah, also competed in the event, and came away with a bronze and silver medal, which is impressive enough on its own merit, without knowing that she competed in the Under 21 age category… at the tender age of 14!

For those who are not in the know, Racketlon is a combination sport where competitors play four racket sports: table tennis, badminton, squash, and tennis. It originated in Sweden, and was modeled on other combination sports like triathlons and decathlons.

We’re incredibly proud of Piers and his achievements. Well done!
