Huddersfield New College has recently trialed a rugby taster session for our female students, and due to its popularity, we’ll be putting a full Women’s Rugby Team in place from September 2015!
With our Women’s Rugby Team becoming a permanent fixture on the College calendar, we’ve been fortunate to link up with Huddersfield Ladies Rugby League team to help improve our provision.
This link is an excellent opportunity for women and girl’s who wish to play rugby but have been unable to find a local club to join. The Ladies Team will be helping to provide coaching for a new Community Club initiative, which will be open to 14-15 year old female rugby players in the local area and hosted on College grounds. It also means that our students who have enjoyed playing rugby whilst at college will have the opportunity to continue playing with Huddersfield Ladies once they have finished their studies.
This link has been possible thanks to West Yorkshire Sport and we can’t wait to start working with the Huddersfield Ladies Rugby League Team.
