The college is shaped by the needs of our students and their parents; their feedback helps us to create the best possible learner environment and student experience.

As students’ needs change, this feedback is essential as it allows us to maintain relevant services that benefit our student body. This year, a lack of secure bike storage on campus was brought to our attention by the parent of one of our students, and as soon as we realised that there was a requirement for additional bike storage, the College acted quickly to ensure that there was something in place as quickly as possible.

A group of like-minded staff and students, who are keen cyclists themselves, were asked to put their heads together to come up with a solution. New College teachers Jordan Mullinger, Simon Brass and Lee Speight, and students, Amira Mellor and Lewis Byram, explored the bike storage options available, and presented the Senior Leadership Team with several options that would suit most cyclists.

The bike storage lockers that you now see in place were picked and were installed in the spring term. They’re now available for students to use if they wish to cycle to College. All we ask is for a £10 storage deposit that is fully refundable at the end of the academic year.
