Huddersfield New College’s first Open Event of the year takes place tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd October. The evening runs from 6pm – 9pm with the last entry at 8.30pm. The evening is an opportunity for Year 11 students and parents interested in joining the College in September 2019 to discover more about the outstanding experience on offer, and meet currents students and subject teachers.

The evening is also the launch of the College’s new prospectus in a hard copy format, and prospective students will be able to collect their very own hard copy. Guests are encouraged to join a Principal’s Talk (6.15pm, 7.00pm, 7.45pm and again at 8.15pm) before touring the Campus and visiting subject specific areas to find out more about shortlisted courses and how the Outstanding teaching and learning challenges and stretches students to ensure that they achieve their potential.

HNC is renowned for the support and experiences outside of the classroom and a special exhibition will allow potential applicants to discover more about opportunities and support such as the Enrichment Programme,  DofE Gold scheme, Careers service, Student Welfare, Talented Athlete Programme and the comprehensive bus services, amongst others.

Angela Williams OBE, Principal comments: “We are looking forward to welcoming our potential Class of 2021 to our first Open Event of the year! Our Class of 2018 celebrated exceptional results with a 100% pass rate for both A Level and BTECs and a 66% high grade rate (A*-B or equivalent). Our Student Ambassadors will be sharing more about how, as well as achieving the very best possible grades, they enjoy a range of unique enrichment experiences that help them to stand out from the crowd. We are really looking forward to helping our guests to experience our special atmosphere, and see why we are the number one organisation in the UK for Equality and Diversity, and why we were shortlisted for the TES Sixth Form College of the Year for two consecutive years.”

Booking is not required. Carparking is available on a first come, first served basis. Our carpark is staffed for the evening, and we recommend carsharing wherever possible. There is a frequent bus service available on the main road outside of College, on New Hey Road.
