Women’s football at Huddersfield New College continues to go from strength to strength, with two of the College’s students securing places on the English College’s Women’s Squad for the 2018-19 season.

Macy Ellis, a first year, and Autumn Housely, a final year, were awarded a spot on the team after a rigorous and challenging selection process that included four first phase trials and a second phase trial before the final squad was agreed upon.

Successfully gaining a place on the English College’s squad will see the two talented HNC footballers playing the sport at the very highest level of College football. Jamie Marsden, Head of Academies, says “Women’s football is increasingly popular amongst our students, and our Academy teams and Talented Athletes continue to dominate in the sport at the very highest of levels. It’s a pleasure to see our female footballers recognised for their outstanding talent on the field. I’m incredibly proud of Autumn and Macy, and I am thrilled that they have been selected for the 2018-19 English College’s Women’s squad. I am sure they will have every success and I wish them the best for the upcoming season”.
