Huddersfield New College has revealed that a special Aspire workshop is running at the Year 10 Open Event on Wednesday 3rd July.
The First Step to HNC Open Event is aimed at students in Year 10 and is designed to help them to plan ahead and start preparing for those all-important decisions they will be making about their 6th form options from this September.
On the evening, there will be a chance to enjoy a tour of the College and meet teachers and find out more about the wide range of A Levels and BTECs on offer. For the first time ever, a specialist Aspire session (places by booking only) will run which allows students on track to achieve a high number of 7, 8 or 9 grades at GCSE to explore how HNC will help them achieve their ambitions.
HNC supports all young people to succeed, and the Aspire programme ensures students can realise their plans and successfully apply for world-leading universities, including Oxbridge. For the first time ever, HNC is running an interactive Aspire workshop. This will include a short overview of the programme, followed by a ‘speed learning’ style session. Guests will be able to opt from a range of mini-interactive talks on topics such as Future Medics, studying the Humanities and the difference undertaking an EPQ can make.
Scott Townshend, Aspire Programme Lead says: “Aspire is an exciting programme of support and experiences that ensures our young people realise their academic potential and ambitions. We are delighted to be running this specialist interactive session that will allow our guests to explore subjects that are highly regarded by the best universities, as well as hear more about our Aspire programme, including our new lecture series. It is a fantastic way to explore how HNC supports students to secure places on the most competitive courses including Medicine and Dentistry. We promise that the sessions will be fun, engaging and provide valuable information that helps students to plan how they will take their first steps to achieving their ambitions.”
Booking is essential for the workshop, click here to book. Please note booking is not required for the Open Event itself which runs from 5pm – 7pm.
