Huddersfield New College has revealed that it has been awarded four separate awards in just one night at the National Centre for Diversity’s Grand Awards -including Organisation of the Year for the fourth year running.
The Grand Awards celebrate the very best of the UK’s top Equality, Diversity & Inclusion champions and recognise the work they do to promote Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) at the highest level in workplaces across the UK.
At last night's awards ceremony (Thursday 16th January) Huddersfield New College won an unprecedented four awards in total including once again being named the Number One Organisation in the UK for Equality and Diversity – for the fourth consecutive year!
HNC was named as the UK Organisation of the Year and as the FE Provider of the Year. Two members of staff were also recognised as champions and for their role in engaging the HNC community and helping HNC to be a place that is fair, respectful, equal, diverse and inclusive. HNC was recognised in four award categories and named:
- UK Organisation of the Year
- FE Provider of the Year
- Principal of the Year: Angela Williams OBE
- EDI Lead of the Year: Erika Montgomery
Angela Williams OBE comments: “I am delighted that HNC has won this series of awards that recognise our underpinning Mission as a College to be a friendly and welcoming place for all. I am proud that others recognise this unswerving commitment to equality of opportunity that pervades our work as a College."
