Huddersfield New College has revealed that its next generation of students, and those progressing internally at the College to Level 2 and to Level 3, will soon be invited to log in to an exclusive online Campus ‘Your HNC @ Home.’

Following the half term break, applicants who have accepted their place at Huddersfield New College for September 2020, and those progressing internally, will receive a letter sharing their own personal log in details to this online Campus.

In this, students who have accepted an offer of all a place will discover subject based tasks, specially designed to help them to explore their chosen subjects in more depth, and prepare them for the next step in their academic studies.

There will be an option to submit work to the College, to receive a certificate of completion for this work, and to be entered into a prize draw to receive a reusable coffee cup and a voucher for a free Starbucks/Costa Coffee on arrival at the College later this year, for being a completer/finisher!

The College will also be running a range of competitions potential new students can enter, which will give a flavour College life, and will be rewarded with prizes. These too will be posted on the online Campus.

Each week, new and exciting content will be posted to the online Campus, designed to help students maintain their learning throughout the current pandemic situation, whilst also providing a good head start to their academic studies at HNC. Level 1 and Level 2 students who are already at College but will be progressing internally to Level 2 or 3 study programmes will also be able to access the exciting new content.

Angela Williams OBE, Principal says: “We are really excited about the launch of our online Campus, Your HNC @ Home. We understand that those progressing internally, and Year 11 students getting ready to join us in September, are keen to maintain their learning, which has been interrupted by the lockdown.  The content of our online Campus will enable them to do this whilst also preparing them for their post-16 studies during these challenging times, with new and exciting content posted each week.”

“There will be some fantastic competitions to enter, such as the Short Story Competition, which will give a flavour of the student experience our new students can expect at our College. Your HNC @ Home really is a great way for our new students, and those progressing internally, to get ahead in their studies, and we look forward to engaging with them online through this special portal.”

Please note: that all potential new students, and those who are progressing internally to Level 2 or Level 3, will receive a personal letter containing their individual log in details to the online Campus, Your HNC @ Home. These letters will be posted out in the week commencing 1st June, the week after the May half term break.

Please also note: access to Your HNC @ Home and the work therein will not be available until the portal is launched.
