Huddersfield New College's (HNC) Director of Additional Learning Support, Chris Madej, has been running his way through lockdown to raise money for local charity, Ruddi's Retreat.

Chris pledged to run a mile for every day the country had been in lockdown- equating to 100 miles! Starting his mission in June, Chris has now completed 101 miles, through rain and blistering heat waves, all whilst balancing working from home to support our students through this remote learning period.

Chris comments, "Ruddi's Retreat is a fantastic local charity who supports the families of children with life limiting illnesses. As with most charities, they have found this lockdown period a barrier to their fundraising efforts. I was inspired to run a mile for every day we were in lockdown to raise much needed funds to support them during this difficult time. Although I have run in the past I've sadly not had much time to run this year, so running this distance in such a short space of time has been a real challenge. I have been spurred on by your support and I am proud to have raised a brilliant £263 for Ruddi's Retreat. Thanks to all who have donated so far".
