Huddersfield New College is celebrating the diversity within the College and wider community with a special virtual event, asking staff and students to share a message of hope, cheer and goodwill as we come to the end of this unusual term.

What does this season mean to you? What do you hope for yourself, your family and your friends in 2021? Email us with your message to news@huddnewcoll.ac.uk and we’ll share them anonymously via our social media channels to celebrate the diversity of faith and belief within our College community.

A student has already shared this beautiful message in Punjabi with us:

It reads: “This year has been tough for everyone, not seeing family and friends. Life as we know it changed. Hopefully, next year will be better and happier. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from every background”

Erika Montgomery, Director of Equality and Diversity, says “As the Number 1 organisation in the UK for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, celebrating the diversity within College is an important part of who we are. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and we have all made sacrifices to try and halt the spread of Covid-19. As a College community, we wanted to end this term with a positive message for 2021, and demonstrate the wide range of diversity in faith and belief that we’re lucky to have here at HNC. I do hope you will join us in spreading a message of festive cheer and goodwill”.
