Huddersfield New College has revealed that ahead of tomorrow’s virtual Open Event student takeover, the Head Student team has produced, directed and launched a promotional video about life at HNC from a student’s perspective.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 9th December) the College will host the final virtual Open Event of the year. At this Head Students Noah and Phoebe will be presenting live about their student experience, before answering questions from guests. Today the College has launched the Head Student team takeover video. This features the full Head Student team of Noah and Phoebe and Deputy Head students Cerys and Haroon, along with Student Governor Courtney.

Alongside this special content guests will be able to access lesson tasters and insights, and once again teachers will be available for live Q&A via MS Teams.

The team were tasked with a special project to reveal more about their HNC, and to share more about why they chose to come here.  They were given a brief to produce a marketing video about the College, and to feature what they thought Year 11 students would like to know about HNC, along with sharing their views and experiences.

The video can be viewed here:

Noah Lovell, Head Student (Pastoral) says: “I am really proud to be a Head Student, and as a Head Student team we really enjoyed thinking about what students might like to know about College, and then producing our video for the student takeover part of the event. As a Head Student I know just how important the student view and voice is to College, and we will be sharing our genuine opinions about life at HNC tomorrow in our live presentations at the virtual Open Event. There’s no question too big or too small, so please come and say hello to us!”

Phoebe Suthers, Head Student (Curriculum) comments: “College has been incredibly supportive, particularly in helping me combine my studies with my commitment to playing tennis competitively. We know that looking round Colleges is a bit different at the moment and the idea behind our short video is that you can hear a little bit about life at HNC from our perspective and then find out more at the virtual Open Event too. It is really important that if you’re thinking of applying you have all your questions answered, so please do join us tomorrow as you’ll be able to speak to teachers too.”
