Huddersfield New College has shared how students from across the full range of Art and Design courses have enjoyed a special experience at the UCAS ‘Create Your Future’ exhibition in Manchester.

The event showcases the vast range of higher education options available in the creative fields, and helps students to learn more about the progression opportunities available in the creative industries. Students also joined a range of talks, creative workshops and main stage performances on topics such as sustainable fashion, graphic design as a career and perfecting a portfolio to stretch and challenge their current A Level and BTEC studies.

A selection of photographs from the day can be found below.

Hosted in Manchester, the event was also extended into a field trip for students with 3D Design students exploring and photographing the architecture, Textile Design students exploring fashion at Afflecks Palace and Graphic Communication students joining a special graphical trail.

Maria Dean, Assistant Principal and course leader for 3D Design: “A creative qualification opens up a world of opportunity, and our students progress to some really unique and exciting careers in this field. Our trip helped them understand more about how they can create their own future in the industry, and the many options that are available to them at degree level. The higher education workshops also extended their subject knowledge, and our exploration of Manchester after our visit helped us all to reflect how Art and Design is part of our daily lives.”
