HNC has revealed that students are being invited to join a special no obligation information session to learn more about undertaking their DofE Award whilst at College.

The College is an accredited DofE centre and this is just one of the many enrichments students can opt to take part in as part of the College's drive to offer our young people an enriching and enlightening experience. Students can opt to undertake their award at Bronze, Silver or Gold.

DofE is valued highly by universities and employers as it reflects a student’s motivation, and grows their skills in a range of areas whilst offering them the chance to make new friends and challenge themselves. Students are often unaware that many of the things they do already – such as volunteering– can count towards DofE.

We will be hosting a special no obligation drop in on for all students on Tuesday 15th November so that they can find out more. Students can register their interest via Moodle. The session will also be an opportunity for students in receipt of bursary to find out about how they can join the scheme at a discounted rate of 50 – 100%, dependent upon the bursary they are in receipt of.

Duane Laverick, DofE Lead says: “DofE is one of our most popular enrichments, giving students access to unique and exciting opportunities that they won’t see in the classroom. Achieving an award is genuinely life-changing, and demonstrates that students have invested in their current and future self. Our no obligation drop in is a brilliant opportunity to learn more and ask questions. We look forward to welcoming lots of students!”
