HNC are delighted to announce that Talented Athlete, Ethan Clarke, has recently been selected to represent Great Britain in the upcoming Biathlon World Championships in Kazakhstan.
Ethan, an accomplished Biathlete and Cross Country Skier, has taken part in a range of high level competitions this season, starting with the qualifiers for the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Junior Cup races in Austria. Ethan's success here saw him selected for the first IBU race of the season in Martel, Italy. These competitions saw Ethan compete for Great Britain in a variety of races, seeing him experience competing as a Biathlete at the very highest levels and helping him to prepare for the busy season to come. These inaugural races for Team GB were followed by the OPA competition in Germany, and a further competition in Switzerland, competing in both the 7.5km sprint and 10km pursuit races. Ethan's success in these competitive races paved the way for him to compete in the recent IBU Competitions, held in both Estonia and Latvia. His success here has seen Ethan once again selected to represent Great Britain, this time in the Biathlon World Championships in Kazakhstan in March.
Jamie Marsden, Head of Faculty for Academy and Development Sport and Talented Athlete Coordinator, comments "Ethan has had an incredibly successful season competing in his chosen sport of Biathlon. His demanding training schedule, supported by the College's Talented Athlete programme, has paid huge dividends and will see Ethan representing the country and competing at the very highest levels for his age category. Ethan's continued success as a Biathlete and in his studies are testament to his hard work and dedication. We wish Ethan all the best in the upcoming World Championships".
