HNC has revealed that a new round of enrichment opportunities have commenced today for students. These are in addition to the regular, all year round activities that students can opt for.
All students are encouraged to take part in enrichment as part of their HNC journey, and there is a wide range of opportunities on offer that help our young people to develop their skills and experiences outside of the classroom, and gain the competitive edge when applying for university or jobs.
There is something for everyone, and a number of these run as four week blocks, making it simple and easy for students to participate. It also means that they can regularly try something new, and these four week blocks renew each term. Today (27th February) some great new enrichments including ceramics classes, relaxation techniques and creative writing workkshops have opened to students, along with some new sports based activities including badminton and table tennis club. As always, these run alongside year round opportunities including our sports enrichment, Microsoft Office Specialist, the HNC Book Club and many more.
Following the popularity of self-defence, this has also returned this term with old and new members welcome. On Thursday 2nd March our external martial arts expert Jimmy will be visiting the Junction during lunch to answer any questions and explain how and why self-defence is such an important lifeskill. Like all of our enrichments (with the exception of DofE) this is available to all students, and is completely cost free!
Joe Norton, Director of Independent and Enriched Learning comments: “Our enrichment programme continues to go from strength to strength and we’re delighted to be introducing a new group of enrichments upon our return from the February half term break. We are proud to have such a variety of opportunities available, and strongly encourage students to take part so that alongside their qualifications they can gain the knowledge and skills needed to flourish in their next steps. It is also of course a great way to meet new friends and try something new!”
Students can find out more and book now via Moodle. Further information about HNC’s enrichment can be accessed by clicking here
