HNC is today proudly celebrating how the hard work of students has paid off, with our young people securing the qualifications they need to progress to their chosen destinations.
Whilst national media headlines are sharing how results have decreased nationally as the Government is working to bring overall results back to pre-pandemic levels in England after a spike in 2020 and 2021 when grades were based on teachers’ predictions, HNC is celebrating how each and every one of our individual students has worked hard to achieve their full potential, and their dream next steps – just a few of our success stories can be found below.
Our Class of 2023 have secured an overall Level 3 pass rate of 97%, with two thirds of all students securing A*, A, B (or equivalent) in their studies. As a result, over three quarters of students have secured a place at their chosen university.
Marcus Smith-Connor, Principal comments: “As Principal I would like to congratulate each and every one of our students who today are seeing how their hard work and dedication has paid off. Whilst we are of course proud of students who are today celebrating securing top grades and entry to world leading universities, we are also recognising those students who have fully committed to their education, securing grades beyond what they were predicted, enabling them to successfully progress to the next stage in their ambitions. This year our students are going on to some unique and exciting destinations from degree level study, to much sought after apprenticeships and the world of work. As a College we offer students who are willing to commit fully the opportunity to not only secure the grades they are capable of, but also a unique range of support and experiences that develop the skills and attributes that universities and employers are looking for."
“Whilst we recognise that grades have been affected nationally by the Government’s drive to ensure they are brought back in line with pre-pandemic levels, this does not change how much hard work young people here at HNC and across the UK have put in to their studies and today’s results are the start of a new and exciting chapter for them all. We’re also delighted to reveal that our Class of 2023 will be invited to celebrate the fruits of their hard work and join staff at a special afternoon tea reception on Friday 22 March 2024, where they will also be presented with their exam certificates. We’re already looking forward to this event which will also be a perfect opportunity for our Class of 2023 to update us on life after HNC!”
