Ed has been in Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s academy for the past three years and is joining Yorkshire’s squad in South Africa as a youth player.

For the past year Wilson has been keeping wicket for Yorkshire’s second team, eventually being called up to the first team squad as a reserve.

That’s on the back of his key appearances for Huddersfield New College’s Cricket Academy, which he’s been a member of for the past two years while studying for his Extended Sports Diploma.

There was heartache for a HNC old boy however, as Gurman Randhawa didn’t make the final selection.

On behalf of HNC we wish Ed all the best out in South Africa!
