The Maths department showed their working out to prove that Maths plus bacon equals success on Wednesday morning when the first breakfast revision club ran from 8am.

Led by Maths teacher Catherine Ward, 23 knowledge-hungry students turned up to kick start their day with a healthy dose of mental exercise – as well as piping hot sandwiches straight from the canteen.

The breakfast club initiative is the latest success for Maths, which has a 97% pass rate and is among the top performing departments in the country.

Bev Farrar, Head of Department for Maths, said: “I’m thrilled at the turnout at this morning’s breakfast club.

“They’ve made an extra special effort to get up earlier than usual and start their college day at 8am, and I have no doubt that this effort will be rewarded when they receive their exam results in August.”
