The event was a mix of singing and dancing, brilliantly compered by second year BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts students Georgina Thornton and Canaan Bradshaw.

Cheered on by their friends – as well as Performing Arts staff and the principal – 11 different acts took to the New Theatre stage in order to impress the crowd.

The winner was judged by how loud the audience cheered at the end of the show, with level 3 Dance student Andrew Torkornoo (right) claiming the top prize.

Andrew beat fellow Dance student Matthew Flinders and singer Lauren Middleton, who came second and third, respectively.

Thanks to everyone who spent weeks practising and perfecting their acts. The £53 raised by the performances will be added to further money raised during the year to help the two charities.
