Huddersfield New College’s Cricket Academy set their sights on a repeat victory over the RAF on Monday at Elland Cricket Club, but were hit for six by a very strong side.

It’s the second fixture between the two teams, and with each side having won a game each all eyes will turn to next year’s rematch to see who can come out on top.

Our boys won the toss, but after a strong start two of the RAF batsmen struck up a 195-run partnership following some dropped catches and declared on 231/6.

HNC’s batsmen didn’t have the best of times against a strong RAF side, with Jordan Ghani scoring the College’s highest score with 24 runs.

It was a good experience for the Academy side – fresh from an inspirational visit from cricket legend Alec Stewart - who put up a valiant effort despite going all out for 100.
