Scotland Rugby League have announced the first of their four Players of the Year, and HNC student George Kinnaird has made the cut.
The Thompson-Tait Award for Scotland’s best Under-19 player went to prop George Kinnaird, who played in all five of Scotland's Under-19s games in 2016. George studies A Levels in Law, Media Studies and Sociology alongside his rugby training, and is currently in pre-season training with Keighley Cougars. George spent 2016 at Halifax Elite Rugby Academy and on trial with Coventry Bears.
“This is thoroughly deserved for George, as his attitude around camp and match performances were second to none,” declared team manager Andy Bennett.
ScotlandRL Chairman Keith Hogg added: “I would describe George as a very good team player- he always puts it in for the team, prepared to play in any position in the forward [line], and he played with a knee injury throughout last season. He is very committed to the Scotland Rugby League cause and was one of the core players from the first development session in 2016.”
Well done, George!
