The Air Cabin Crew Enrichment students enjoyed a fun and informative trip this week to the Thomas Cook Training Centre in Cheshire. This training centre was launched five years ago in partnership with the Oxford Aviation Academy, and hosts more than 500 pilot and 3,500 air cabin crew training days per year.
The training centre has a range of cabin training equipment, such as cabin mock-ups, galley, smoke trainers, and door and over-wing exits with slides for four different varieties of aircraft. The students were able to use these facilities to simulate the real-life experiences of a Thomas Cook cabin crew.
Travel and Tourism teacher Amanda Beirne said, “This trip was truly beneficial for air cabin crew students, especially if they would like to pursue this job in the future. They were able to try out the role of a cabin crew member and put their prior learning into practice.”
