Students from Huddersfield New College’s Performing Arts department put on a fantastic Showcase of their skills this term, working tirelessly to produce a dazzling exhibition of popular show tunes and original pieces.

‘Through the Ages’ opened in the College’s New Theatre on Wednesday 15th February for a two night run, featuring performances from Musical Theatre and Dance students and tunes from shows such as Chicago, West Side Story and Kiss Me Kate. The show included a wide range of dance and musical theatre styles from large ensemble pieces to smaller group choreographies and solos. The students have been involved in a rigorous rehearsal process in order to achieve high level work and experience realistic working methods of the professional performance industry. The pieces in the show are being assessed as part of their level 3 BTEC courses.

“It was amazing to see the progression of all the students in both shows over the past two nights,” said Dance teacher Joanna Gray. “The students worked together as a cast to produce such a successful performance that showcased an incredible amount of talent at HNC. It was an absolute pleasure to watch!”
