Huddersfield New College student, Abi Haley, will be taking part in a charity sky dive on the 2nd June 2017 in Bridlington.

Abi decided to organise the charity sky dive to raise money for Kirklees in Recovery, an organisation which works with people with drink and drug addictions. Abi’s Dad suffered from an alcohol addiction and Kirklees in Recovery worked with him on his road to recovery. Sadly, he passed away shortly before her 15th birthday.

Raising money for Kirklees in Recovery is very dear to Abi’s heart. The monies raised will make a huge difference to the lives of those they help, from providing the tea, coffee and biscuits for their drop-in services, to providing residential care for those where this could make the difference between recovery or relapse.

Abi speaks: ‘I never thought I would lose my dad so young. I hope that I am making him proud now by carrying on his positive outlook on life and doing this sky dive. Any money raised will make a huge difference to those in Kirklees trying to recover from a drink or drug addiction, and to their families and friends, who are trying to support them on their road to recovery.’
