A level Geography students left HNC on Monday 3rd April at 5am for a Geography fieldtrip to the Jurassic coastline in Dorset.
Based in Weymouth, on day one the students participated in urban fieldwork.
Day two saw our students visit three coastal sites - Lyme Regis, West Bay (home to the cliffs featured in the ‘Broadchurch’ TV series) and Chiswell (on the Isle of Portland). Students measured beach and groyne profiles and later used different statistical techniques to analyse their data.
The final day saw our students awake bright and early to clear skies, a warm day and final visits to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door before departing for home.
A member of the public commented that the students were 'very mature and respectful of all members of the public when carrying out fieldwork'.
